Summer birthday? [ a soft laugh. ] Yeah. We always liked to come and set off fireworks on the beach at night. It's fun to see how it reflects on the water.
Well...I live in the midwest, so real beaches are like, hundreds of miles in any direction. But we're near the Great Lakes! And they're huge. Like, bigger than you can really see the end of on the other side. And the shores around there get pretty beachy!
It's not the same, but it's still really nice in the summers.
That's fair - it kind of sticks to you even more than just the sand, but they usually have fountains where you can clean up a little, but it doesn't help if you get it in your eyes.
Think we could find surfboards somewhere? That could be fun to try.

Probably. But I'll go back later.
[ he's not saying "if i'm alive" but he is lowkey feeling it. ]

...you really wanted to spend the night on the beach, huh?
[ with an unspoken "in case you die tonight." ]

Yeah. I like the beach. I've missed it, before this week.
[ there is a vaguely pleasant feeling as he says that, at least. ]

It's a short drive or a bus ride away. But yeah, I try to go whenever I can.

So what do you think of the ocean, then?

I could live without the saltwater, though.
