Um... Maybe it was green once, but it didn't seem to have a color when I was looking at it? No glow though.

Well, it should probably be fine. Ectoplasm is usually harmless.

Are they okay when they leave so much behind?

Usually, yeah. They can generate it too, so it's not like you're cleaning up their guts, exactly.

Sometimes you're just cleaning up their...energy residue? I guess?

[He's wracking his brain to figure out if there's anything that's like this in real life and failing.

then a snort, then danny just fully bursts out laughing ]

No, no! I mean, maybe, for a snail ghost? I mean like, energy beams! That they shoot out of their hands or something!

[He starts laughing along with him, because the idea of a snail ghost is just so out there.]

I had no idea ghosts could do that kinda stuff!

Most of 'em, yeah.

Ectoplasm is like--it can be a lot of stuff! It can be goop, it can be a ghost's body, it can be energy, it can be like fire or acid...but if you've already touched it and nothing happened other than getting sticky, you're probably alright.

Fire or acid?! Ghosts can do all kinds of things!

Oh yeah. But it sounds like they didn't leave any of that behind, so, uh. That's good, for you.

Yeah. I'll make sure to wear gloves the whole time if I see it again.

Eh, you'll probably be okay without gloves. Seriously, if it doesn't hurt you when you touch it at first and you make sure you don't like swallow any, then you're fine.

...I mean, I think. I don't think anyone's actually done any like long-term studies on human-ectoplasm exposure, but. [ shrugs ] Everyone I know seems to be okay so far?

Are you saying people really try eating that stuff? That can't be healthy.

I'm glad everybody's okay, but-

No one really tries eating it. It's more like, if you accidentally get some in your mouth, or an open wound or something.

[Nods, because this makes WAY more sense than somebody dipping their fries in it or something.]

Plus, it tastes awful. Like a bunch of old pennies left to rot in a hot carseat, but also bitter somehow.

This sounds awful. Sounds more like you should spit it out.

Sometimes, it's blended into food well enough that you don't notice the aftertaste until after you've had a few bites.

I thought people didn't eat it? Are you being poisoned??

They don't! It's just, sometimes ectoplasm samples get kept in the fridge, and sometimes they uh...do some weird stuff to the food.

You should get another fridge?!

We did. It worked for a little while, but then it just started happening again. Doesn't matter, our kitchen is so full of ectoplasm I think it's like melded with every surface in there.
