[He says, getting settled to get into painting for a while]
Warm up first. If this is your first time, don't jump straight into writing. Your hand needs to get used to this all. When I had to learn it, I began by tracing my other hand on paper until the non-dominant hand stopped feeling awkward.
[Perhaps it's no surprise November is ambidextrous. He had to do a lot of training with his non-dominant hand, probably]
It is -- different muscles and more fine precision. It's all about how well you control your movements, though. Your dexterity is good, according to the profile. You'll figure it out soon.
[He adds, too:]
Shapes are the next step after tracing your hand, by the way. I had to draw shapes over and over back then.
Exactly, those shapes. Letters are little more than shapes, after all.
[Well, if you look at it in a very simplistic manner, at least.
November is slowly beginning to frown, not very happy with how his painting attempts are progressing, ad he has a growing feeling it's not because he's distracted talking to Kumon at the same time]
[Leaving the paintbrush aside with a sigh, he turns the canvas. It's...what's supposed to be an apple? Apparently? It's hard to tell. Honestly the efforts are worse than Kumon's caligraphy with his nondominant hand.
Clearly today in the art studio there are two trying and not doing too hot at what they're doing]
Last week I could paint well, despite never having even taken a brush ever before. Clearly that talent is gone.
Probably, but I have never been the artistic sort. While your problems with writing are of a more practical nature, I haven't come up with a practical reason to keep practicing this.
[Can't defeat an enemy by showing them a hella good painting.
Apparently November hasn't heard of something called having hobbies, unless you count the inclination to bad jokes]

[Because he can keep trying, but it's slow going.]

I got used to using it for pitching, but that's a lot different than writing.

[His dex is very good for a 16 year old.]</small. All kinds of shapes? Like triangles and circles and stuff like that?

[Especially if you're writing in kanji and hiragana. Just a lot of lines and shapes!]
How's your painting?

[boo. what was that about?]
If you keep practicing, you'll get better. It works like that for everything else, right?

[And he's fine with that, really. He's content with doing what's expected of him]

[Instead he's sitting here painting in the art studio because I said so. Sucks to be November.
But yeah, November seems to be a tad too focused on that, instead of trying to enjoy himself somewhat]

[Definitely not, unless he's missing something huge in it. Which is always possible -- he's not infallible, after all]

Okay, if you say so.
